CADAVERS: UNRESOLVED QUESTIONS

The series CADAVERS consists of eight episodes in which four detectives from different eras attempt to solve the same murder. Whether in 1890, 1941, 2023, or 2050, the deceased is the same, in the same position and location; only the era and the detectives change, but each detective's motivation to unravel the mystery remains constant.

It's British television, and it feels British. The flavor of a British city is ever-present, and the sense of witnessing an evolution of detective stories in the vein of Sherlock Holmes lurks somewhere behind the scenes. CADAVERS is the struggle of reason against unsolvable enigmas. It embodies the rationality characteristic of the Victorian era, present from the very first episode.

Whether Cadavers will establish itself as a flagship series on Netflix remains to be seen. For now, it's fighting to secure a second season and defend its unique identity, which some find confusing with Dark, the 2017 German series. What is clear, however, is that Cadavers is a metaphor for a world where profound questions remain unanswered. This characteristic has captivated audiences and is also what grants it its universal appeal.
