The key concept lies in Walter White's behavior, as his proximity to death softens his moral compass regarding breaking the law, taking risks, and engaging in dangerous situations. Despite the horror of his crimes, it is impossible to hate him, because, in parallel throughout the entire story, he shows to the highest degree that tender side that makes his two facets inexplicable, or rather, confirms the existence of that indivisible duality of the human being.
