Les Misérables

What began as a great literary work by the French politician, poet, and writer Victor Hugo, published in 1862, has served not only as inspiration for musicals but also for several films. The first of these, in 1958, was directed by Jean-Paul Le Chanois. Currently, LES MISÉRABLES is directed by Tom Hooper, known for his work on the film THE KING'S SPEECH (2010).

The film, which has been touring cinemas worldwide since December, arrives on our screens this month, giving us the opportunity to enjoy a dramatic story set in 19th-century France. Jean Valjean, the ex-convict pursued for decades by the ruthless policeman Javert, agrees to care for Cosette, Fantine's young daughter. This decision changes their lives forever.

The film brings together a group of major movie stars, including Hugh Jackman, Russell Crowe, Anne Hathaway, and Amanda Seyfried, among others, and features innovative filmmaking techniques. Les Misérables is expected to be a box office hit. We're sharing the trailer and a behind-the-scenes look at the making of the film.
