Although it didn't receive immediate public acclaim, within a few years it would become a cult film, shaping how the Seventh Art would interpret the future in the years that followed.

In 2015, it was re-released with a different cut, with which Ridley Scott claims to fully identify. Critical opinions are divided, because, being a film noir, it requires characteristics that contribute to a better construction of the narrative universe in which the action unfolds. The point of contention is the first-person narration, included in the 1982 cut but absent in subsequent versions.

In any case, BLADE RUNNER still possesses the same magic that captivated moviegoers in the 80s and becomesa good reason for new generations, accustomed to computer screens and televisions in their homes, to be able to see a title of mythical proportions projected on the screens for which it was intended.
