The second film in the DIVERGENT series, which was released under the same name in March 2014 and achieved significant box office success, premieres a year later, also in March. Like its predecessor, it is based on the novels by the young author Veronica Roth, specifically the one known as INSURGENT, which shares its name with the film adaptation.
Roth, who is around 27 years old, is considered a best-selling star. With her writing, she draws young people to reading, and with her stories, she moves audiences from all over the world to movie theaters. She demonstrates a penchant for pessimistic, dystopian futures in which love and ideals manage to triumph over adversity, but most importantly, in these stories, it is the young who hold the power and the will to transform it.

INSURGENT is directed by Robert Schwentke, a specialist in action and entertainment films such as THE TIME OUTSIDE (2009), REC (2010), or RIPD (2013). INSURGENT is therefore a project tailor-made for him, where romance and special effects combine in a story as political as a post-Cold War film can be, designed primarily for young and teenage audiences. The film has all the makings of one of the first blockbusters of 2015; watch the trailer and judge for yourselves.
