DESPICABLE ME 2 (MY FAVORITE VILLAIN 2)
Directed by Pierre Coffin and Chris Renaud, the film tells the story of Gru, one of the world's greatest supervillains, who has decided to leave his life of crime behind to become the perfect dad. While trying to do so, he is recruited by a top-secret, anti-crime organization.
THE HYPNOTIST
From Swedish director Lasse Hallström, THE HYPNOTIST tells the story of the massacre of a family on the outskirts of Stockholm. Detective Inspector Joona Linna is tasked with finding the culprit, and he has an eyewitness: the family's teenage son, who barely survived and is unable to communicate through conventional means. To this end, Erik Maria Bark attempts to access the boy's memories through hypnosis, thus beginning a perilous journey into the deep darkness of the human unconscious. The film is an adaptation of the Swedish bestseller of the same name by Lars Kepler and will also serve as the first installment in what could become a future franchise.
THE LONE RANGER
Directed by Gore Verbinski, the story begins with the origins of the Lone Ranger. A group of Texas Rangers are pursuing a gang of outlaws led by Butch Cavendish. After the outlaws ambush the Rangers, only one person survives, thanks to a Native American who nurses him back to health. The Ranger then dons a mask and, mounted on a white horse named Silver, sets out with his friend to bring the outlaws to justice.
SNOW WHITE
From Spanish director Pablo Berger, SNOW WHITE is a loose adaptation of the popular Brothers Grimm fairy tale, set in Spain during the 1920s. Carmen has lived her entire childhood under the yoke of her terrible stepmother, Encarna. Tired of the repression she endures, she decides to escape and live new adventures that will allow her to forget her traumatic past.
THE WOLVERINE (IMMORTAL WOLVERINE)
Directed by James Mangold, it tells the story of X-Men member Cheetah, who has lost his memory and seeks answers about his past in Japan's organized crime world. There he will find both love and tragedy.
STAR TREK INTO DARKNESS
Directed by J.J. Abrams, this film tells the story of how the crew of the Starship Enterprise is surprised by a force that has managed to destroy the fleet and everything it represents, putting the entire world in danger. With Captain Kirk as their leader, the ship's duty is to try to capture the culprit and restore peace and balance.
THE SMURFS 2
Directed by Raja Gosnell, this sequel to THE SMURFS sees the evil Gargamel create a pair of mischievous Smurfs called the Naughties, from whom he tries to extract the magic and essence of the Smurfs. But when he realizes that only a true Smurf can give him what he wants, he decides to kidnap Smurfette and take her to Paris.
Violet went to heaven
Directed by Andrés Wood, this is a loose adaptation of Ángel Parra's book of the same name. From the tent she erected in La Reina, Violeta Parra is visited by her dreams, experiences, and hopes. She is alive, but perhaps she is dead; this creates a great sense of anticipation as we gradually learn about her secrets, fears, frustrations, and joys.
THE BEST OFFER
A film directed by Giuseppe Tornatore. It tells the story of Virgil Oldman, an eccentric millionaire antique dealer who is commissioned by a mysterious young woman to sell the artwork she inherited from her father. The appearance of this young woman, who suffers from a psychological illness that keeps her isolated from the world, will completely transform Virgil's life.
LOST IN THE SNOW
From director Petter Naess, LOST IN THE SNOW is based on true events that took place during World War II. During combat, a British and a German plane crash in a remote region of Norway. By chance, both crews take refuge in the same cabin. They struggle to survive the harsh winter and return to the battlefield.
A SONG FOR MARION
Directed by Paul Andrew Williams. It tells the story of an elderly woman, suffering from cancer, who finds a haven of peace in a group of retired gentlemen who meet to sing.
